Reminder: Join us this Saturday for our
Community Farmer's Market
Ribbon Cutting and Hempstead Family Fun Day!
On August 3, Hempstead Village will kick off its annual 13-week Farmer's Market, offering residents and visitors a cornucopia of colorful fresh fruits and vegetables grown at Long Island farms!
The Farmer's Market will operate every Saturday starting Aug. 3rd from 11am to 3pm, through October 26, at 99 James Garner Way (the Village parking lot.). The Market will be operational during those times while supplies last.
This year, the Village is partnering in the Farmer's Market with Choice For All, a non-profit that works to support youth, family and community development by offering supportive services. Choice For All CEO Jacob Dixon says his organization will set up several large stands and some booths filled with 30 to 40 different types of fresh fruits and vegetables, including corn, cabbage, celery, apples, peaches and pears. Customers can pay with cash, credit, SNAP cards or Farmers Nutrition Checks, which can only be spent at Farmer's Markets. Produce will not be the only attraction. Choice For All will also have games for children.
Each Farmer's Market promises to be a wonderful event running through the end of the summer and into the early Fall. We are expecting a large turnout out each Saturday, so visitors are asked to arrive early. The Hempstead Community Farmers Market is brought to you by the Village of Hempstead, Choice for All, HCSN Roosevelt, Nassau County, Hempstead Community Development Agency and Northwell Health.
