The Village of Hempstead Mayor Don Ryan recently attended an open house and barbecue held by the Hempstead Community Action Program (CAP) celebrating the program’s fifty-third anniversary. The event commemorated CAP’s work over the last fifty-three years in improving communities, helping underprivileged families, and making Hempstead a better place to live.
The Community Action Program was created by the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County (EOC) to help move low-income individuals and families towards economic security. CAP held the Open House and BBQ to end a successful National Community Action Month in May.
