Road Construction Notice

Under the direction of Mayor Wayne J. Hall, Sr., the Village has embarked on one of the most aggressive roadway improvement programs in our history.  The Inc. Village of Hempstead has engaged a Contractor to improve the streets noted below. While we anticipate that this work will soon be commenced, a work project of this type is subject to weather conditions.

During construction there may be some inconveniences encountered and we will endeavor to keep such inconveniences to a minimum. It is hoped that your cooperation will aid us in quickly completing this work. In order to accomplished this project as efficiently as possible certain concerns must be addresses, for instance: 
  • It will be necessary to temporarily close some driveways as work progresses and during working hours you will have limited access to your street. The Contractor will be required to notify residents 24 hours in advance of such a circumstance.
  • Please adjust your plans for deliveries and other daily functions, in the event that your street is closed.
  • Please avoid having water flow into the street from your property during working hours, such as lawn sprinklers, car washing, etc.
  • During non-working hours you will have unlimited access to your street.

Streets that will undergo Road Work are:

MORRELL STREET (W. COLUMBIA STREET TO DEAD END)

TERRACE AVENUE (FULTON AVE TO ATLANTIC AVE)
JACKSON STREET (TERRACE AVE TO N. FRANKLIN STREET)
