Housing Authority
The Hempstead Housing Authority was established pursuant to New York State law and is governed by a seven member Board of Commissioners.

Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals is authorized to hear appeals in matters related to the zoning ordinances. Board members are appointed by the Mayor and are confirmed by the Village Board of Trustees.

The Electrical License Board adopts rules on technical requirements applicable to electrical installations.

Plumbing Examiners Board
The Board of Trustees shall appoint a Board of Plumbing Examiners, consisting of three members, which shall have jurisdiction to determine the fitness of applicants for plumbing licenses and to recommend to the Board of Trustees the issuance, suspension or revocation of any plumbing license issued under this code.

Planning Board
The Planning Board is an appointed government board that advises the Mayor and Board of Trustees on land use, growth and development. They also make recommendations and conduct studies relating to the desirable planning and development of the Village of Hempstead.

Personal Wireless Service Facilities Board

City Charter Commission Advisory Board
The City Charter Commission Advisory Board will explore and discuss the idea of becoming a City.

Ethics Board
The Ethics Board ensures that Village officials, governmental employees, and others doing business with the Village conduct business in an independent, impartial and responsible manner following the Code of Ethics. All complaints are provided to the Ethics Board, so they can further investigate.
