The responsibility of the Traffic & Safety Bureau is to enforce New York State and local Village traffic laws. Operating throughout the Village in enforcement cars and on Police motorcycles, officers will conduct radar enforcement and spot enforcement in areas of special concern.

The Traffic & Safety Bureau is also responsible for coordinating parades, and special events necessitating traffic control as well as Department fleet maintenance. The Commanding Officer of the Traffic Division also sits on the Village Traffic and Safety Board which promulgates parking regulations and other traffic restrictions throughout the Village.
