Livio "Tony" Rosario
Livio “Tony “ Rosario was elected a Trustee in 2009 and his philosophy as a Village official is to have open and honest communication with the Village residents and Village employees.
Trustee Rosario is a Vietnam veteran, who after his honorable discharge from the military, has served as a civil servant for more than twenty-five years. Trustee Rosario has been married to his wife Olga for more than thirty years and he has two daughters; one, who graduated Columbia Law School and another who, is attending Nassau Community College.
Trustee Rosario has served the Hempstead Community as a Trustee for the Nostrand Garden Civic Association and looks forward to serving his community even more effectively now as a trustee. He is one of the founding members of the New Hempstead Democratic Club. Through his training and employment he learned the art of one-to-one, relationship building and he has always encouraged others to be an advocate for themselves. He is an extremely successful team leader, who looks forward to bringing resolutions to community issues and problems. Trustee Rosario especially hopes to unite our multi-ethnic community, particularly the diverse Hispanic community and foster a harmonious spirit throughout our Village.
In addition, Trustee Rosario is a member of the NAACP & ATU Latino Caucus Chapter 1056 and he is committed to improving the quality of life in Hempstead. Trustee Rosario is an advocate for increasing community programs which are geared to our youth, as he believes that our young people should be afforded every opportunity to succeed.
Every day and every experience with Village government brings new and sometimes challenging issues: how to maintain our quality of life; how to provide the highest level of service; how to make the best decisions today for the issues of tomorrow. How to accomplish all that we wish for our residents while remaining fiscally responsible continues to be the biggest challenge. Whatever the future holds in store, in whatever capacity Trustee Rosario is asked to participate, he remains committed to an open-door policy to help residents deal easily and effectively with their government.
Trustee Rosario welcomes community members to contact him with their concerns and visions for Hempstead because he knows that the Village benefits when everyone is involved. Trustee Rosario is a proud resident of the Village of Hempstead and pledges to do all he can to continue to improve the quality of life of the residents of the Village.
